Instruments

Piano / Keyboard

Our piano programs are designed to develop instrument technique, musicianship and stylistic language as a piano player so that you're able to excel in a variety of musical contexts.  Through exploration of a wide spectrum of musical styles, you'll advance your comprehension, expand your versatility, further your musicianship, and sharpen your sense of time and rhythm. Piano is an excellent beginner instrument as it helps build a foundation in musicality without major limitations in developing sound, tone or intonation.  Piano study can begin as early as 5 years old.

Guitar  

Acoustic - Electric - Bass - Ukulele

 

 

We offer many options and cater to a variety of stylistic preferences. Guitar students can study either electric or acoustic guitar.  With an emphasis on developing the student’s technical approach and reading abilities, we have a strong tradition in classical guitar while also offering guitar students the opportunity to perform in the school’s “Rock Ensemble.”  Students can start guitar classes as early as 5/6 years old.

Strings  

Violin - Viola - Cello

 

Violin students begin as early as 5 years old. Students begin with learning the fundamentals of bowing, left-hand technique as well as developing sight-reading skills while developing strong tone and intonation. Students perform in both solo recitals and participate in the school’s chamber orchestra.

Drums / Percussion

 

Drums are a popular instrument and are found in a wide variety of musical styles. There are many opportunities for ensemble play for an accomplished drum student. We have several studios equiped with high quality drum sets for instruction, practice, and performance.

Program offered in: Pop, Jazz, Rock, Funk, Soul, Metal, Gospel

Vocal

You will discover your voice and expand your knowledge of vocal technique, posture, breathing, registers and range through performance and study of various popular genres.  You will learn proper vocal warm ups and healthy performance routines. Developing stage presence, musicianship and improvisation ability is also core to our vocal programs. Vocal lessons are very popular amongst all ages as the voice is the most expressive and mobile instrument.

Er Hu

Erhu is a Chinese ancient instrument with a tone similar to a western violin, yet more soulful and expressive, extremely popular in China today as a medium for both traditional and contemporary music.  Our Er Hu classes are designed for beginner and intermediate students of any age, and no experience with string instruments or music is necessary. You will not only be trained to play this beautiful instrument, but also be taught music theory and to read simplified notation.
